The goal of Operation Tattooing Freedom (OTF) is to work with Veterans who are suffering from PTSD, Depression, Chronic Pain, and Anxiety and help set them up with a tattoo artist that will give them an amazing tattoo to symbolize that pain (be it emotional or physical) and help them take control of the situation. “American Tattoo Society tattoos veterans and active-duty soldiers every day, when we met Lewis and heard about the great work they were doing there we had to be involved,” says Ryan Harrell, owner of ATS. “We hear these stories every day, tattoo therapy is nothing new to those who are in the tattoo industry in Fayetteville. We love that we can be a part of the healing process.”  Three veteran ATS artists Chris Lockamy, Sean Robinson, and Sam Cruz signed up immediately. All three artists are excited to be a part of this partnership. “As a veteran, I am just happy to be able to give back to my brothers & sisters with the talents I have been blessed with,” says Chris Lockamy. After meeting Lewis at a tattoo convention while planning his own to take place in Fayetteville April 14-16 2017 Ryan knew he had to become involved, donating time and $ to the cause. ATS will be using OTF to help veterans at their location off Yadkin Rd in Fayetteville. You can learn more at www.americantattoosociety.com or contact the shop at 910-867-2726.
