US Coast Guard Tattoo Policy (Updated for 2021 Changes)

October 29, 2021·By admin
The Coast Guard updated their tattoo policy in 2021 at the same time the US Marines saw sweeping tattoo policy changes. These updates added a single tattoo behind the ear and hand tattoo restrictions. Both of these were welcome additions to a pretty solid overall tattoo policy. Some items listed as unauthorized and restricted are listed below. If you have questions about the policy hit us up! Unauthorized Areas: - Face - Tongue / Lips - Scalp Restricted Areas: Hands - Between their first knuckle & fingertip, or on the top or side of the finger. - The area may be visible at the position of attention. Head / Neck - A single tattoo no larger than an inch wide to be placed behind one ear.
